From Marvel Superhero To Beauty Guru, He is Taking the world by storm
If you’ve been a Harry fan for a while now, I’m sure that you are used to the classic extended periods of time where we have no content to appreciate. He is a man of many talents and privacy is most definitely one of them. For this reason, on those particularly “off” seasons, a mere blurry picture of him running errands in a hat and sunglasses can send his fans into a frenzy. However, at times like now, there is almost an overwhelming amount of content approaching from left and right. From daily concert pictures both on stage and behind the scenes to interactions with fans at various tour locations, these past few months have provided us with so much to take in. As his Love on Tour approaches its close (post concert depression will be in full effect), we will thankfully still have no lack of Harry Styles.
As skilled as Styles is at being secretive, his fans are equally if not more so skilled at finding out any and everything there is to know about him. Due to this, speculation of his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe began back in early 2020 and came to a close when certain reporters leaked his role after an early viewing of Eternals this October. I would not consider myself a Marvel super fan by any means but the moment Harry’s name was mentioned, I immediately purchased a ticket. The movie was officially released November 5, with certain showings beginning November 4, and even though his screen time was only about 60 seconds, his star factor still shined. Though I am deeply biased to believe anything this man accomplishes is revolutionary, his character Eros depicted an air of such confidence and sensuality that it is no surprise his power is used to control the emotions of others to his advantage. Since the Eternals release, it has been discovered that Styles has signed a contract for Eros to return in a minimum of five more Marvel movies. Needless to say, I have started to watch all 26 of the MCU films in order to fully prepare myself for his return. The power Harry has on fans like me has always been synonymous with that of a superhero, this role comes as no surprise.
In addition to Harry’s movie ventures, it has also been released this week that he is launching a gender-neutral beauty brand called Pleasing featuring skincare products and a nail polish line. With a tagline of “Find Your Pleasing” this company is both ethically and environmentally friendly with various items focusing on hydration and rejuvenation. As someone who unintentionally made nail polish for men a more mainstream fashion statement and trend, it would make sense why Harry would choose to capitalize on a field that he has such personal interest in. Those in the media have very mixed opinions on Styles’ involvement in this new business venture with some saying that if he has never necessarily been a spokesperson for skincare, why now? Others are also inclined to believe that it is merely a ploy to make more money since his team knows that loyal fans of every age will purchase virtually anything that his name is connected to. However, Harry has spoken about his real reasons for starting Pleasing in an interview with Dazed Magazine saying, “I think it’s about giving, and giving back. I am blessed to have fans who are so supportive of me, who believe in freedom and who have created this safe space for each other. Pleasing is really for them.”

All opinions aside, it is clear that Harry Styles will not be going away from our mainstream media any time soon. The year 2022 will also bring him to life on the big screen as a costar to Florence Pugh in Don’t Worry Darling, directed by his now girlfriend Olivia Wilde, as well as My Policeman where he will be in a love triangle with his wife and a policeman named Patrick. If these expected films weren’t enough to wrap our heads around, there is also talk of Harry working alongside Ariana Grande in the movie adaptation of Wicked. It is unclear as to what role he would be taking on but multiple sources have nodded in the direction of these suspicions being true. One can only wonder if this is why his chosen costume for “Harryween” Night One was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Until we know for sure, let’s just hope that his third album is close to being released! Being a fan of Harry Styles will never get old.
