The weather is starting to drop below 50 degrees and in the skincare world that means one thing and one thing only: flaky, dry skin. Goodbye to the days of sun-kissed, plump, glowing skin and hello to the pale, dry, dark side. Don’t be too scared, though. With the right skincare, you can have your skin glowing even when it may not be outside. Here are some of my favorite products:

Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C Serum

Despite the name of the brand, I love using this serum in the winter months. Vitamin C is known to brighten the appearance of skin, and this product does just that. I use it specifically after I wash my face (before moisturizer) and use a pat motion to truly press it into my pores. The consistency is a mix between a moisturizer and an oil, so it doesn’t leave my face with that oily appearance which I absolutely love for daytime wear. To add a cherry on top, the packaging is superb. Not only does it come in a sleek, matte pump, but the pump can be turned to the side to ensure that your serum is not leaking during travel. Although expensive, I highly recommend it.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

If you’re into anything skincare, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. As a staple product in the skincare world, this concentrate intensely hydrates skin overnight for a glowy, supple appearance in the morning. As the name suggests, I use this before bed and am always so pleased with the results in the morning. I’m not sure what sort of magic is happening while I’m getting my beauty sleep, but it’s amazing. The oil is contained in a clear, glass bottle with a clear dropper, allowing the user to gauge how much product they would like to use on that given day. Added bonus: my bottle lasted me over two years! A little goes a very long way.

Mario Badescu Drying Cream

I’m not sure about you, but I always feel like my skin breaks out more in the winter than in the summer months. For any sort of breakout or texture repair, my holy grail product is the Mario Badescu Drying Cream. I could literally talk forever about this product, but let me keep it short. Whenever I feel any sort of texture on my skin, I apply a layer of the cream and sleep with it overnight. Next thing I know, either the blemish is gone or very diminished. I will never stray away from this product as it has helped my skin for numerous years now, and what’s even better is that it’s only $12.75!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask

While serums, lotions, and moisturizers are all fabulous, sometimes you need to layer on a facemask to penetrate into the pores. My favorite facemask is the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask for a variety of reasons. The mask, meant to brighten and invigorate skin, uses turmeric to illuminate and cranberry seeds to then exfoliate during the removal process. Not to mention, it also smells delicious. I use this mask when I feel like my skin needs a pick me up or a new beginning. It’s also the perfect product to include in any spa-day routine. Self-care, am I right?

I could go on and on about skincare, but for now I’ll stick to these four staple products. If you would like to purchase any, feel free to check them out at Sephora or Ulta. And remember, just because it’s dreary and cold outside, doesn’t mean our skin has to be too!
