As we transition to the colder months, it’s time to say goodbye to getting away with wearing flip flops and slip ons. Fortunately, there are many boots and closed-toed shoes for the winter season. Uggs especially have been making a comeback and will continue to do so this year.

Uggs are practical and comfortable, and if you haven’t jumped on the Ugg trend yet, now is the time to do so. This time last year, I was still convinced that Ugg boots were something to be left in middle school. But with the short Uggs becoming trendy (after Emma Chamberlain posted them of course) I realized we do not have to make them a thing of the past. I’ve been loving short Uggs because they can look good with leggings, sweatpants, and even jeans if you pair them with a cute sweater. They are definitely a staple piece that you can dress both up and down. If you’re feeling lazy one day, all you have to do is roll out of bed and slip on a pair of Uggs.

If the short Uggs aren’t your vibe, the tall ones look just as nice–they just require a little more flexibility with styling. Another style of Ugg boots I’ve been loving and that we will definitely be seeing a lot of this fall are the Tasman Ugg slippers. I have been seeing them so much on TikTok and they look so comfortable. Similar to the Ugg mini boots, they can be easily styled–especially with more casual outfits. They are easy to throw on and are not a hassle to put on like some more common fall and winter shoes. If you’re looking for some casual footwear for the colder months, definitely hop on the Ugg trend–you will not regret it!

Hi everyone! My name is Larissa Nunes and I am originally from Framingham, MA, but I also have family and spent some of my childhood in Brazil. I plan to major in the humanities on a pre-law track because writing and journaling have always been one of my favorite things to do. In addition to that, I was also a ballet dancer for 11 years. I enjoy talking about politics as well as fashion and lifestyle. I have a wide array of passions, so writing for Her Campus is the perfect way to express myself while appealing to different interests and types of people!
