While planning my own costumes this year, these are some of the best costumes I found for two. Whether you are roommates or best friends, these costumes are sure to make for a memorable, cute pair.

Clueless: Cher and Dionne
Gossip Girl: Serena and Blair

Both of these looks are classics you can’t go wrong with. They aren’t terribly difficult to put together, and you’ll be paying homage to a few of the most iconic TV show and movie characters of our generation. Both the Gossip Girl and Clueless costumes are dependent on the clothes you wear, so if you already have these items or just want to order a couple of pieces and be done with your costume, these are a great fit. This is also a good one if you aren’t the best at makeup since the looks aren’t dependent on face makeup.

Clueless
Paramount Pictures
Thelma and Louise

Get you and your most badass friend together for two of the most timeless characters in the movie industry. This retro look can also borrow from pieces that you could use for Rosie the Riveter and biker outfits. The best part is you can wear each of the pieces of clothing separately outside of Halloween, so it’s definitely not one of those costumes where you would not be able to reuse anything you buy.

Harley Quinn And the Joker

If you are a DC Comics fan, Harley Quinn and the Joker is a great choice. It’s super fun with tons of color and personality, and you can make it as scary as you want. This outfit combination is also perfect for accessorizing with props, including Harley Quinn’s iconic baseball bat. To make this look, you will have to go all out on the hair dye and face makeup for both characters. This is a great one for couples.

Bikers and Surfers

This outfit idea also doubles as a group costume and is the perfect ode to the biker culture of the 60s. Bikers can draw inspiration from movies such as West Side Story and Grease. Leather jackets and bandanas would be perfect for this costume. Surfers can dress in beachwear with leis and sunglasses to accessorize.

Most of these costumes are easy to assemble with items you already have in your closet. Even if you do not have all of the clothing items for a costume, going all out on makeup can define your look on many of these ideas. The most important thing is to add personal touches to your costume to make it your own unique look.

Boxers

This outfit is pretty easy to put together with just spandex and a sports bra. If you have these items already, all you would need to buy is a silk boxing robe and boxing gloves, although the gloves are not a must. Although the clothing portion of this costume is pretty basic, this outfit gives you a lot of freedom with makeup. You can do bruises on your arms and legs, as well as use red paint to paint on cuts and blood. Bruises on the face and black eyes will also elevate your look and make for fun close-up photos. Personally, this outfit is one of my favorites every year.
