I’ve Fallen In Love With Fall — Here’s Why

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

Over the years, fall has definitely grown on me. My favourite seasons used to mainly be spring and early summer, because of the warmer weather. Plus, I’m able to do more activities during those seasons. However, I’ve started to realize that each season comes with so many opportunities for enjoyment, and you have to be a little optimistic.

The main reason why I love fall is because of the beauty it brings, with all of its vibrant colours. I hadn’t realized how much I love seeing the leaves on trees change to gorgeous reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. When fall comes around, there’s this one street in my neighborhood that I love driving down. There are these big trees with various coloured leaves that begin to coat the street as the season continues. When I’m driving down that road, it feels like time has slowed down. The only thing going through my head is how happy I am, seeing all this beauty the world has provided us with. Fall reminds me that change can be beautiful.

Fall also means hot drinks, and that is something I love. Not that you can’t enjoy a hot beverage during the summer, but it just “hits different,” as Gen Z’ers would say. When the weather starts to change during fall, there are more opportunities to drink something warm. Whether it is hot soup, coffee, or tea, I love the feeling of drinking something hot when it’s chilly outside.

Let’s not forget fall fashion! The layers, colours, coats, and options are what I look forward to every year. Styling my clothes in creative ways is something I enjoy doing, and when a new season begins, it means more styles of clothing that come out. I can dress up in fun and cute clothes, make my way down to a café, and enjoy a hot beverage while taking a stroll in a park filled with breathtaking trees. I fall in with fall every year.
