Afterwords, stop over at Modern Bread and Bagel and get yourself a delicious gluten free and kosher bagel. Maybe even visit the Strand satellite at Columbus Avenue for a copy of Wuthering Heights.

If you’re looking for a relaxing day away from the city, take the boat to visit Governor’s Island before it closes at the end of October. Wander around to take a peek at all the abandoned buildings, including houses, a church, a hospital, and more. Rent a bike or read on a hammock in Hammock Grove. Grab a taco or some fries from Taco Vista. Come on a Saturday or Sunday before noon, and your ticket will be completely free!

They’re playing all the classics: Scream, Hereditary, Candyman, Hocus Pocus (three different times!!!), and much more. Isn’t it obvious? Have a Ghostbusters movie night! First, take a trip down to Tribecca to visit Hook and Ladder Company 8 at 14 North Moore Street, otherwise known as the original filming location for Ghostbusters’ headquarters. After that, gather at your apartment and settle in for a night of fun! Serve lime green jello for a delicious ectoplasm-esque treat, ghost cookies, and of course plenty of marshmallows.

Looking for some goofy fun? Attend the annual pumpkin Flotilla in Central Park on Halloween. Around 6:30, carved pumpkins will be released into the Harlem Meer and will float around for a half hour. Don’t forget to wear a costume!
