3 Photography Items to Add a List of Things to Bring When Traveling

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ICU (Japan) chapter.

For people who love traveling, it’s almost time to make plans for the next trip in autumn! The main purpose of that trip would be autumn leaves(紅葉), which we can see only for a month every year, but always have impressed us. To keep them as an autumn memory, this article will give you three camera items that would help your photograph.

1.Gimbal for a Smooth Shooting

A gimbal is a device that allows your digital camera or mobile phone to rotate smoothly. You might know this gadget because many YouTubers and influencers use it when they take videos.

When you usually take a video by hand, you always need to be careful reducing camera shake. But with a gimbal, you no longer need to keep your arms to the body, holding it with both hands. A gimbal makes it possible to take smooth videos while moving around and holding your phone with one hand.

The price varies a lot. If you want to take videos as your personal memories, you can enjoy using a gimbal for a reasonable price(around 3,000yen). If you want to enjoy an authentic photograph, getting a gimbal for around 20,000 yen would be nice.

2.Drone for Your Magnific Video

A drone is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled from the ground. Recently, many TV shows have been using these devices to show magnificent views.

You usually hold a camera with your hand, which means you can take photos only from limited angles. But with a drone, there are no more limits to enjoy photography. It makes it possible for you to have birds’-eyes-view and to “go anywhere” you cannot actually go. It would always be one of the necessary items to bring when you travel.

The typical cost for a standard drone might be around 200,000 yen. It is still expensive, but it’s worth enough. If you are interested in a drone, let’s start saving money for this special item!

3.Tripod Grip for Your Group Photos

A tripod grip is a three-legged stand that enables you to take an empty-handed photograph. Similar to a gimbal, this also functions as a valuable tool when taking pictures.

When you take a group photo, you usually ask people around you to press the shutter. But what if there are no such people, or you want to avoid contact with others in this Covid situation? With a tripod grip, you can take pictures by yourself, so you no longer need people to take them for you. Also, it is very easy to master how to use it.

A tripod grip for mobile phones would cost around 100yen to 2,000yen. How about having one as an experiment?

These three items would help you get splendid pictures and videos through an autumn trip. You sometimes do not need to buy them, just rent them at a low price during a trip.

Enjoy photographing, and don’t forget to share your memories on Instagram!
