10 Years of Anne Hathaway’s Hair

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

In celebration of Anne Hathaway’s Billy Crystal-approved hosting performance at the Oscars, I picked my favorite and not-so-favorite of the actress’s hairstyles over the past 10 years.

In 2001, Ms. Hathaway played Mia Thermopolis in her first movie, “The Princess Diaries.”  The invisible girl gets a makeover and ultimately fits the status quo of a princess with the help of a flat iron, tweezers and some makeup.

As a girl who was given the gift of obedience, Hathaway played Ella with fairy-tale princess hair in “Ella Enchanted” in 2004.

In 2006 Hathaway, as Andy Sachs, rocks a sleeker look after she conforms to the fashion world while working at Runway magazine in “The Devil Wears Prada.”

In 2008, Hathaway sported a choppy bob when she played Kym, a woman who has been in and out of rehab for 10 years, in “Rachel Getting Married.”

In 2010, Hathaway bared it all as Maddie Murdock, and sported long, curly locks in “Love and Other Drugs.”

At Hollywood’s biggest event of the year, Hathaway rocked loose waves, a tight chignon, a high ponytail and even an updo reminiscent of the style she wore to the ball in “The Princess Diaries.” My favorite of the night is this romantic style.
