Taylor’s Quick Tip of the Week: Get Involved!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

It is no secret that NC State is a large school. In just my Spanish class there are at least 200 people and I maybe know the names of 10 of them. So this brings up the question of how do you find your place at NC State?

It’s true there are over 400 clubs to join and sports, but really…who has time to go through all those between test, class, work and maybe a couple hours of sleep? Never the less, most of the time meetings about joining things seem to somehow be directed towards freshman so the 25% percent of the 34,000 students that transfer here feel as though it’s too late to be a part of something (I did).

So what are we to do about this major problem? Well there is actually a simple solution: PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE! It is never too late to get involved at State (great slogan right) because there is always something new to do. There are always people on the brickyard trying to get you to come out to an event or sign up for something so if you have the time, DO IT! It really is worth the risk and hey the worst they can do is so no but if you ever talked to people the here you know that is very unlikely!
