When I had the opportunity to try Dallas’s Bliss Spa, located on the 16th floor of the W Hotel, I had no idea what treatment to select! What did I need the most? Facial? Manicure? Pedicure? Massage? After going over the extensive Bliss menu a jillion times, I decided to try their new shellac™ manicure.
Shellac™ is a UV cured ‘hybrid’ nail color that brushes on like polish but holds up like a gel. The perk is that it’s glossy finish holds up for two weeks. Six days later… so far so good! No chipping or smudging that I can tell. The Bliss staff was amazing, and I received one of the best hand massages of my life.
Other services that really caught my attention on the menu, were the various Fatgirlslim body treatments. According to the Bliss menu, the Fatgirlslim treatment is “a detoxifying, circulation-stimulating, body-toning treatment includes dry brushing, application of firming grapefruit essential oil, a trouble-spot-targeting seaweed task mask, a heated wrap, and a rubdown with waist-whittling Love Handler followed by our famed FatGirlSlim or FatGirlSleep (depending on time of day).” Intriguing? Definitely would be ideal for the next time you have to squeeze into that little black dress for a formal. The Fatgirlslim treatments range from $120 to $150 for 70-90 minute sessions.
If you’re hesitant to spend that amount of money, do not fret. Bliss’s Beauty and Brains promotion offers students 20% off any spa treatment with a grade A paper. The idea is to reward hard-working students and stress that being brainy is a beautiful thing! However, even if you didn’t score an A on that last paper, students can still get 15% off a treatment by showing their college i.d.
