Last Friday I woke up at 6:15 to wait in line at the Verizon store. I was still holding my Blackberry, but I knew what I had to do. After two and a half years, I finally made the switch to the iPhone. I always thought I’d be loyal to my Blackberry. However, I have fallen head over heels in love with my new phone and I can safely say we’ll make it past the honeymoon phase.
My Blackberry and I had a long, happy relationship. I was addicted to BBM. I loved (and hated) knowing exactly when people read my bbm’s and what was taking them soooo long to respond. I was never disappointed in the apps or the Internet capabilities. That was, until my entire family made the switch to the iPhone.
iPhone and Blackberry web-browsers are not even comparable to one another. The speed of the iPhone puts it in a league of its own. Instead of waiting impatiently for the bar at the bottom to load, I go to Safari, enter what I need, and in an instant it’s on the screen. The iPhone browser runs exactly like a computer. Its visually pleasing and the display is almost a mirror image of a computer.
The camera is another feature that makes the iPhone so darn tempting. Blackberry comes equipped with a 2, maybe 3-megapixel camera. The Blackberry Curve doesn’t even have a flash. iPhone on the other hand, has a 5-megapixel camera complete with a flash. Pictures are digital camera quality, so it’s like having a phone and point and shoot in one device.
I don’t regret my decision at all. Sure, the battery life on my iPhone isn’t as great as my Blackberry (maybe it’s because I haven’t put it down,) but every other aspect has exceeded my expectations. I am now a thrilled iPhone fanatic for life.
