“But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.” –Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and The City

Sara Jessica Parker, or Carrie Bradshaw couldn’t have said it any better! The one thing we as females forget to do is love ourselves, as we are naturally apt to being the caregiver, and the lover of so many other people. But who is going love us? Who is going to be the person we can fully be ourselves around? Only time will tell. But for now as young women we need to focus on being in love with ourselves, promising that we won’t compromise our self-esteem for anyone who doesn’t appreciate us for who we truly are, and to be fearlessly beautiful and confident. If we aren’t happy with who we are within, or externally, we can’t make others truly happy.  That is what self-love is all about. You’ll find a comfort in knowing, that everything you may face in your lifetime, is just a refinement process, preparing you for the person brave enough to care about you, unconditionally, flaws and all.  One day, you will look up and someone will come along who loves and values you the same as you love and value yourself, or even more in return.
