JT came through on his promise to one lucky Marine.
This summer, pop singer and former NSYNC heartthrob Justin Timberlake coerced co-star Mila Kunis into accepting an invitation made by an officer of the Marine Corps stationed overseas to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball.
Shortly thereafter, JT got an invite himself from Corporal Kelsey De Santis who is stationed at the Marine Corps base at Quantico, Virginia. She asked him over a YouTube video to be her date for the night. This weekend, he kept his word by accompanying De Santis to the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday night.
De Santis spoke to Access Hollywood on Friday about her upcoming date with JT and a possible dance-off with the singer.
“My friends keep saying, ‘Dance-off!’ They know about my skills,” she said. “I honestly don’t think he’ll be able to keep up with my group of people… I don’t think he’ll be able to keep up with us.”
And while there’s no word yet on on whether the dance-off actually took place (or who won), it was a special night for both soldier and singer.
“What I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience,” Timberlake said. “She seemed to me to be so humble and honest… Very cool. She also simultaneously seemed like she was nervous about the whole evening and if I was going to enjoy myself. ‘Are you ok?’ she asked 2 or 3 times. ‘I hope you are having fun. I know you will once my crew of friends get here to the table.’ “
“Thank you Corporal Kelsey DeSantis.,” he said. “Thank you for inviting me. And, thank you for being my hero.”
