It started snowing in Glasgow this week! Everything looked so beautiful, especially my school. Although the trek to my final class on Monday was a little difficult, it was worth it. Check out this photo of the University of Glasgow from winter last year:

Magical, right?

Sarah and I on Byres Road on the night of the first snowfall!

The university was closed on Thursday (postponed exams!), but not because of the snow… It was Hurricane Bawbag who caused the ruckus. I know I talk about the weather a lot, but this was something else.

There were winds up to 165 mph in some areas of Scotland, and 50,000 homes were without power. Luckily, the storm didn’t affect me very much. It’s funny how the Scots dubbed it “Hurricane Bawbag,” which became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter Thursday morning. The Scottish have such a great sense of humor! Besides the name, the best thing to come out of the storm was this video. Take a moment (13 seconds, to be exact) to watch it. Trust me, it’s hilarious!

With papers galore and finals looming, it’s hard to grasp that I’m approaching my last week of being abroad. While I am excited to go home, I will sure miss Glasgow. My friends and I created a “Glasgow bucket list” of things we want to do before we leave. It includes attending the Santa Dash tomorrow, taking a day trip to North Berwick, buying all kinds of tartan accessories and eating as much sticky toffee pudding as possible.

So far, so good!
