Sterling Cates is a Junior PR Major in the School of Journalism and a Spanish minor; she’s a great addition to Her Campus staff, contributing as a writer and member of our PR committee. She stays busy as the President of UNC Women’s Club Volleyball, the social media intern for One Act and as the Volunteer Coordinator for the NC Jaycee Burn Center.
Sterling loves to travel and studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain where she travelled to 10 different countries and 26 cities! Her favorite things to do are dance, play or watch sports (especially volleyball and basketball), go out with friends, try new things and she is addicted to Pinterest. Her favorite quote is, “My mission in life is not to merely survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style,” beautifully put by Maya Angelou. She suggests you take her favorite class at UNC, WMST 290: Leadership and Interpersonal Violence Prevention with Bob Pleastants.
