Winter Recipes Part 3

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

If there is one thing I love the most about Christmas and the holiday season it is this family recipe.  My grandma found it in Bon Appetit a long time ago and it has been a Christmas staple ever since.  Even with the dozens of Christmas cookies, these cinnamon pecans are my favorite!  There’s just something about the crunch of each bite and bright cinnamon flavor!  I hope you enjoy this tasty treat and tuck the recipe away for safe keeping because once you’ve tried them the holidays won’t be the same without them!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 egg white
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • ½ C sugar
  • ½ t. salt
  • 3 C. pecans

Beat eggs until frothy.  Mix all other ingredients minus pecans in a bowl.  Add pecans to egg white and toss.  Add mixture and toss well.  Place on cookie sheet in a single layer and bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.  Loosen with spatula as soon as removed from oven.
