Easy S’mores Bars Recipe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter.

Here’s a super easy treat to whip up, perfect for a midterm blues pick-me-up
.  There aren’t too many ingredients needed, and these taste absolutely amazing.  If you have access to an oven, that’s great, but if not, just use a microwave and eat your s’mores concoction with a spoon.

What you’ll need:
1 stick of butter
1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs (put graham crackers in a Ziploc baggy and crush them.  This is a great way to release exam tension)
1.5 cups marshmallows (mini ones are easiest to work with, but large ones will too)
1.5 cups chocolate (you can use bars or chocolate chips, and really, the 1.5 cups is arbitrary.  Be aggressive with the chocolate.)
½ cup brown sugar

Melt the butter either on a stove or in the microwave.  Then add in the brown sugar, the marshmallows, and the graham crackers until everything is all melted together and nice and gooey.  If you have access to an oven, prepare a 9” square baking dish with non-stick spray, and line the bottom of the pan with your gooey, marshmallowy concoction.  On top of this, layer bars of chocolate or chocolate chips.  Bake for ten to fifteen minutes.  Let cool, ideally in a refrigerator if you have access.  Then cut into bars and enjoy.  If you don’t have an oven, just pour the melted marshmallow awesomeness into a bowl, top it with some chocolate, and eat it with a spoon!  Seriously, make these.  They are life changing!
