How can I even begin a tribute to
the twins who taught me so much about life? Mk&A, you inspired me to start a mystery agency with my sister in 1994. You challenged me to be more experimental with butterfly clips and platform sandals in 1999. You even motivated me to join my high school’s Model UN with the hope of meeting a cute guy from London who just happened to be a Lord or something. You taught me phrases like, “you got it, dude!” (Full House) and “That class is so S&C…snooze and cruise, duh” (Passport to Paris). I religiously watched each and every one of your movies. Through thick and (maybe a little too) thin, I have remained loyal to you two, and now that you are “retiring” from acting, what can I do but thank you for all you did for American cinema.
For those collegiettes who feel distraught by the news of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s retirement, fear not. They will continue to be fashion icons to all of us, and you can continue to catch up on their latest fashion statements here. But beyond being saddened by this news, let’s all try to remember and celebrate the good times we had with the twins.
