This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Southern Miss chapter.

Southern Miss junior, JD Saucier, is as charming as they come. The well-rounded and entertaining 21-year old opened up to Her Campus Southern Miss about his most memorable experiences and reveals just what it takes to earn the key to his heart.

HCSM:  Tell us a little bit about your major and what your career goals are.

JD:  I am studying biology with a pre-dental emphasis. When I graduate from Southern Miss in 2013, I plan to attend graduate school in Chicago, specializing in orthodontics. I really want to live in a big city and be heavily involved with charity work.

HCSM:  Sounds like a bright and successful future! What organizations are you a part of here at Southern Miss?

JD: I’m a Southern Style and Eagle Connection team member. I serve as a teaching assistant for the biology department, and I am in the Tri Beta Biology Honor Society. I am also a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and I studied abroad with the Abbey Program in the spring of 2011.

HCSM:  What would you say is your most favored feature about yourself?

JD:  I like my eyes. Eyes can tell a lot about people, and I feel like you can see my personality through my eyes.

HCSM:  What feature of a woman do you find yourself most attracted to?

JD:  Again, I am really drawn to eyes. I like a woman with good eye contact and confidence. I also like long hair.

HCSM:  In order to call someone your girlfriend, what qualities must she possess?

JD:  She has to be intelligent, but not arrogant about it. I can’t stand the really smart girls that look down on other people. She must be witty and independent with a great sense of humor. I like girls to be quirky and not afraid to try different and new things.

HCSM:  What does JD stand for, and why don’t you use the periods?

JD:  It stands for Joseph Dean. I just don’t like them [the periods]. I associate more with my initials than I do with what they actually stand for.

HCSM:  What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

JD:  It involves two British girls, one Australian girl, a very cold hot tub, and fewer clothes than I’m wearing right now. I’ll just leave it at that.

HCSM:  One last thing, you mentioned that you studied abroad in 2011. What is your favorite place you went?

JD:  Cinque Terre in Italy. It is five cities built into cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. I hiked with my friends, ate a lot of amazing food, and drank wine; it was completely amazing.
