If you’ve ever traveled to Minnesota, I’m sure you noticed how everyone around you is dressed in anything BUT sweats, t-shirts, and hoodies. Up north, they don’t mess around. You can find classy dressed men and women in the downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis areas dining at the hip restaurants. College students also partake in the fashion culture. The most popular style I saw them rock was the “hipster” style. My friend who goes to school up there, she told me she dresses up for class everyday because that is just what everyone does. There aren’t days when she can be lazy and feel comfortable in her cozy sweatpants and sweatshirt in class. WHAT?! After I was told this, I began to notice more and more of how she was right.

While in Minneapolis, I had the opportunity to shop at Mall of America. I immediately noticed that  almost everyone was dressed in their finest, most up-to-date outfit, with the exception of a few. Most likely because it is a proven fact that if you go shopping and wear stylish, cute clothes you will get better customer service than those who roll out of bed and don’t care what they look like because it is “just shopping” in their minds. This fact was certainly proved in my case. My friend and I wore skinny pants, fall boots, simple shirts, and scarves, the most common stylish outfit for this fall. When we walked into a store we were bombarded by the employees and were given compliments on our “cute” outfits right away. When we picked up a piece of clothing, sales associates were there in a jiffy to put it in a dressing room for us. They even picked out other pieces of clothing that we hadn’t even looked at because they thought it went well with the other clothes we picked out.

All in all, there’s a lesson to be learned, ladies. If you go to Minnesota, bring your best ensembles. It will help you to fit in with the locals and recieve better customer service while shopping.
