Brian Tells All! Hook ups and Break ups

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

So I’ve been sleeping with this guy for about a month and I really want to be exclusive with him, but I’m worried he doesn’t have the same feelings for me. Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like you want something that you haven’t brought up with your guy. If you really want to be exclusive with him then wait no longer and talk to him about it. While the thought of bringing up such a touchy subject is intimidating there is nothing you should be scared of. If it truly is something that he doesn’t want, then why would you want to be with him? Friends with benefits is a relationship that is rarely, if ever, sustainable. If the relationship you want does not work out, and then just move on.

having trouble moving on after you end a relationship? See next question.

Outside of stay busy, how else can I move on after a breakup?

So you are recently single and have no idea what to do with your life. No worries because we have all been there at some point or another. First thing is first, do not cry because it is over—smile because it happened. Do not dwell on the fact that you two have broken up, instead embrace the fact that you can finally do whatever makes you happy and not feel restricted. If you want to go out on a Monday then do it. If you want to stay in on a Saturday then do it. Basically do whatever you want. Sound too simple? Well it is just that easy. You don’t have to stay busy. In fact sometimes the best way to spend your time is just sitting around and enjoying your own company. If you can’t sit, then go take a hike up Sleeping Giant. The foliage is perfect at this time of the year and you’ll get a friendly reminder that there are far more beautiful things in life than a college boyfriend or girlfriend.
