What year are you? Junior

What is your major? Communications and I am minoring in Psychology

What activities are you involved in? Right now I have an internship with MTV so that is taking up most of my time, but I am also a Satin Doll and I was an Orientation Leader as well as the Editor of the Beauty of Fordham’s Flash Magazine.

Favorite movie: I really love Shawskank Redemption, Heathers, Anchorman, The Breakfast Club and Up

Favorite band/musician: Anyone who knows me knows that I am actually obsessed with One Direction!

Favorite book: I love all of Chelsea Handlers books, they are so funny! Favorite TV show: I love shows that make me laugh so I mainly watch 30 Rock, The Office, SNL and then I am obsessed with Revenge… It’s so good!

How did you decide to come to Fordham? I actually transferred here just last semester. I really wanted to be close to the city so I applied, got in, visited and fell in love instantly.

Do you have any tips for students who are trying to balance schoolwork, extracurriculars, and other obligations like internships? It’s a really tough thing to do. I am a huge procrastinator so I think avoiding that actually helps. Being able to stay on top of your work and being organized are things that will make your life so much easier. With my internship I am finding that I have needed to re-evaluate and figure out what exactly I can handle and what I have time for. It’s all about prioritizing at this point.

What’s your favorite thing about NY? I like that you never really know what to expect. There are so many opportunities and possibilities that it’s always exciting.

What’s your least favorite thing about NY? I love Times Square. It’s honestly great, but there is nothing worse then being late for your internship and trying to weave your way through the crowd just so you can get to work.

Do you have a favorite Fordham memory? I love being a Satin Doll so my first concert is definitely one of the best memories I have had so far. Being able to spend time with your best friends while singing is pretty amazing.

Do you have a favorite NYC memory? This whole summer was just amazing, I lived at LC and it was really great to have the opportunity to get to know the city so well.

What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Fordham? Surprisingly it was Sports Communications. I took it this summer and it was only for 8 days, but it was all day. It was really different from any other class that I have taken so far.

What’s your least favorite class you’ve taken at Fordham? Art History. The lights were always off and we just looked at paintings…That’s pretty self-explanatory.

Where’s your favorite spot on campus? I love sitting on Eddies when it’s warm out, but I also

If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming Fordham freshman, what would it be? Get involved! There is no better way to make friends then to join things and to put yourself out there.

What’s your dream job? Ideally I want Guiliana Rancic’s job. I love E! and I would love to just interview celebrities and work in the entertainment industry.

What’s on your NYC bucket list?
I really want to go to a taping of SNL. What do you think the best part of a Jesuit education is?
It’s a totally different perspective than what most institutions offer which I think is pretty cool.

Claire has interned at Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a charity for childhood cancer established in her hometown of Philadelphia, PA. She also interned at Sesame Workshop as a production intern for The Electric Company, a popular show on PBS.
