Why We Love Blogilates

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacred Heart chapter.

Why do we love Bogilates?

Cassey Ho inspires collegiettes to be fit and fabulous with Pop Pilates! Pop Pilates is a workout that combines Pilates moves with pop music so that there is no counting, just pulsing to the beat. Cassey started with videos on YouTube ranging from abs to total body sculpting and quickly became a sensation. She now runs Blogilates.com featuring workout plans, meal plans, and even some of Cassey’s favorite healthy recipes.

On her YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates, you can find videos like Bikini Blaster: Muffin Topless, Victoria’s Secret Abs, and healthy recipe videos like the Metabolic Supercharge Smoothie. Some of her recent Pop Pilates workouts include the Roar Challenge, targeting the abs and inner thighs to Katy Perry’s newest hit single and Applause Arms, doing some fierce arm movements to Lady Gaga’s Applause. There are special series of workouts that belong to certain themes like the Victoria’s Secret Series, the Bikini Blaster Series, and the HIITilates series, which is high intensity interval training.

Blogilates is for any collegiette who wants to get in shape, stay in shape, or challenge her fitness with a new type of workout. It takes strength, body control, rhythm, and a good attitude. Cassey recommends that you do two or three of her 10-20 minute videos together in order to get a complete workout. Here is her calendar for beginners.

Cassey is a great motivator because she is relatable and real. She is very conversational during her videos and makes you feel like your best friend is working out right next to you. Cassey was a Pilates instructor all through college. She started designing yoga and gym bags because of her desire for a fashionable bag that was big enough to fit her yoga mat. After one of her yoga bags was featured in Shape magazine, she started mass-producing them and is now the proud owner of oGorgeous bags.

Cassey has a story that is very relatable to some collegiettes. Her parents wanted her to pursue a degree in biology to become a doctor. Cassey did get that degree in biology but decided against medicine. She moved to the east coast after graduation to work in fashion. Cassey was not happy in the corporate world and decided to put 100% of her efforts into her workout videos and yoga bags. In an interview with newmediarockstars.com she spoke bluntly about her Asian background and how important a successful career is to the Asian culture. She proved that she could make a living off of the love she had for fitness. Then she said “it really has helped with the relationship with my parents, because now they believe you don’t have to be a doctor or a lawyer to be successful, you really just have to follow your heart and that is what makes success”. Cassey Ho found her passion in college and just went for it. Now she inspires collegiettes to do the same.

The Pop Pilates workout DVD is available for only $19.95 at www.oGorgeous.com. That’s way cheaper than other popular DVD sets like Insanity or P90X. Cassey’s individual workouts are available on her YouTube channel for free. Even her clothing and gym bags are affordable. These Sweat Happy shorts are $19.95. Pair it with a cute and clever “train like a beast, look like a beauty” tank top for $20.
