Her Campus: What is a typical weekday for you?
Sarah Smallwood: Get up, go to school, homework, and sleep. Honestly, that is all my life is right now. College is pretty overwhelming right now, but I know I can get through it. I wish my days including me sitting in my pajamas and watching movies. Of course that would get boring after a while. So, I would meet up with my friends and hang out. I really would not care what we did as long as we were chilling.
HC: What do your weekends include?
SS: When my homework is finished—or even when it is not—I will meet with my friends. We do random things. Sometimes we play video games or watch movies in one of our dorm rooms. Every once in a while, we will go to the pool hall. I am kind of new to pool, but I can honestly say that I have beaten them a few times. Sometimes, we will sit outside and talk for hours. It all depends on the moment. If one person is bored, usually the rest of us are. We are so similar, it scares me sometimes.
HC: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
SS: I hope to have graduated with a degree in music education. I would prefer to have a job, but if I do not it is ok. I would like to either be married or engaged by that time. I would like to work as a music therapist for kids with disabilities. I would like to either have my own apartment or live in a house with my hubby at the time. I love animals so I would have a pet, of course. I guess I would just be normal.
HC: What is a perfect date for you?
SS: Nothing fancy. A dinner date with pizza or Chinese food is fine. Although, every once in a while, I would like to have a nice dinner. Even if he just cooks for me. No, especially when he cooks for me. I will cook something, too. Then, we could go to a movie. Then end the night with a kiss. I guess you could say I am a bit of a romantic.
HC: What would you tell someone who was longing for love?
SS: Just be yourself. I was not asking for a relationship, but I got one. If someone wants to date you, try it. You may find a great person. However, if someone does not want to date you, move on. At the same time, do not be actively looking. Sometimes, the best things happen when you are not looking.
