On 24th October, Her Campus decided to pay a little visit to the Oasis store in Princesshay who were celebrating their new flagship status. ‘What does that mean?’ I hear you ask. Well, we spoke to Ceri Cudd, the in-store manager at the Oasis store, and she helped to explain this further.

“It means that they are putting Oasis in Exeter really on the map, so it’s THE place for our customers to come, and it’s a store of excellence. It means great service, the best products and communicating with our customers through our own Twitter account” Ceri also added that being one of 17 flagship stores in the country means that “they’re really investing in our store, having new mannequins, fixtures, better sticks and really lovely window displays”.

In recognition of this great achievement and in keeping with the Devonshire roots, Oasis held an vintage-inspired event complete with champagne in beautiful teacups- what more could you ask for? Oh I know- Bobbi Brown make-up artists, as well as hair stylists to give you that retro makeover. We also discovered a very cute new addition to the store in the form of an instant photobooth, which we just couldn’t resist!

After walking around the store, we saw so many gorgeous pieces, perfect for this seasons’ wardrobe, including sophisticated Christmas party dresses, and gorgeous autumnal-coloured coats, set to keep you super warm this winter. In addition to this, we noticed that there were numerous photos of the beautiful Mollie King from The Saturdays. I’m sure you’ll agree with us when we say we are continually jealous of the girlband member with her long legs, enviable fashion sense and not to mention her past relationship with David Gandy (swoon!). So, we were very excited when Ceri told us that Mollie had been chosen as their brand ambassador for the next year, and as such had chosen a number of selected pieces from the Oasis A/W collection as her favourites!

One of our favourite pieces from Mollie’s capsule collection was the check skirt. This is available in purple and grey however, the purple sold out in just two days so make sure you get down to Oasis swiftly to get yours! We think it’s so versatile and would wear it with thick tights and ankle boots, for a perfect day look.

We had such a wonderful time at the event, and have added a fair few items to our Christmas list from the Oasis collection so make sure you go down to the store to check it out. Thanks to Oasis Exeter and Ceri for putting on such a great event!

Olivia Wilkerson is a third year Business Economics student and is very excited to take up her role as Fashion and Beauty Deputy Editor of Her Campus Exeter this year! Alongside her degree, she loves catching up with the latest trends by reading numerous magazines and blogs and uses this as inspiration for her own fashion and fitness blog which she has recently started. Fitness is important to her, so you may see her down the local gym working a sweat or at the local health food store (there's a great one on Well Street!) buying lots of lovely treats! This summer, Olivia will be going to the South of France to relax and scout out the St Tropez style icons as well as braving the potentially incredibly muddy fields of Glastonbury! As she is studying Spanish as part of her degree, she is also aiming to undertake an intensive course in Barcelona for a week, before returning to Exeter to study hard for third year! She hopes that working for Her Campus Exeter will allow her to meet lots of wonderful like-minded girls and to further develop HCX to make it the best it can be.
