5 Simple and Delicious Treats for the Holidays

1. Chocolate Coconut Matzo Bark

Ingredients:

  • 6 sheets of salted matzo
  • 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups of sweetened coconuts flakes

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Place sheets of matzo on a baking sheet lined with tin foil
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over each piece
  • Bake until chocolate begins to melt (Average: 3 minutes)
  • With a knife or spatula, spread melting chocolate over sheets
  • Immediately sprinkle with coconut flakes
  • Wait for chocolate to set
  • Break sheets into freeform pieces

2. White Chocolate-Dipped Festive Oreos

Ingredients:

  • Oreos
  • Peppermint candies
  • White chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles

Directions:

  • Follow the melting directions on the back of your bag of white chocolate chips
  • Heat them up until you have a bowl of melted white chocolate
  • Crush the peppermint candies into tiny bits
  • Dip your Oreos into the melted chocolate
  • Top the melted chocolate with sprinkles and peppermint before it sets
  • Place on top of foil and wait for it to harden

3. Holiday Pretzels

Ingredients:

  • Bag of square pretzels
  • Bag of Hershey kisses
  • Bag of plain M&Ms

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F
  • Place pretzels on wax paper on a cookie sheet
  • Unwrap Hershey kisses and place one on each pretzel square
  • Place in oven for 3-4 minutes or until chocolate is soft
  • Watch close or it will melt completely!
  • Remove from oven and place one M&M in each center
  • Put in fridge to harden

4. Chocolate Peppermint Pudding Cookies

Makes approximately 12 cookies

Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup of butter, softened
  • ½ Cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ½ packet instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 peppermints candies, crushed

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Mix butter and sugar until well combined
  • Add egg, vanilla and peppermint extract to butter mixture
  • In separate bowl, combine pudding mixture, flour, and baking soda
  • Pour pudding mixture into butter mixture and mix well
  • Fold in peppermint candy pieces
  • Drop scoops of dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment
  • Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes

5. Snowball Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups finely chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Powdered sugar

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 325 degrees F
  • Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar in large bowl
  • Beat at low spead, scraping bowl occasionally, until well mixed
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls
  • Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets
  • Bake 18-25 minutes or until lightly browned
  • Cool for 5 minutes
  • Roll in powdered sugar while still warm again after they have fully cooled
