Campus Cutie: Corbin Weber

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

This week’s Campus Cutie is an enthusiastic and friendly 21-year-old student at Lane Community College. Corbin Weber plans on graduating in 2015 with a business degree. He has moved around the world quite a bit, but says Singapore feels most like home to him. Here is the full interview!

HCO: Why are you studying Business?

I consider myself a people person, enthusiastic, diverse and I was raised in one of the most economically-driven nations in the world, Singapore. Living in Singapore allowed me to see the culture of business overseas and this is why I am a business major.

HCO: What are your post-graduation plans?

I plan on moving back to Singapore and working for The American Club Singapore, a country club. I plan on running the youth program and summer camps to gain experience for two years. After, I would like to move into a larger company as a human resources manager or sales manager.

HCO: What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be the middle line backer for the Dallas Cowboys; however, I gave that dream up a while ago. My dream job would have to be running human resources for a global company.

HCO: Who do you look up to as a role model and why?

Christopher Jason Witten would have to be my favorite role mode after my father. Jason Witten, a tight end for the Dallas cowboys loves his job and makes a lot of money doing it. Even with a consuming job, Witten is extremely close with his family and church. He has an amazing sense of balance in all aspects of his life. On top of this, he also established the SCORE foundation, which provides support for families and individuals affected by domestic violence like Witten was as a child. The fact that he can do what he loves, be close with his family, and give back to society inspires me to find this same kind of balance in my own life.

HCO: What do you do in your free time?

When I have time off from school I enjoy reading, being around friends, playing Xbox, watching TV shows, and working out. Over breaks, my father and I lose ourselves by taking trips to remote locations. Places like Papua New Guinea or Thailand are some to mention.

HCO: What are your pet peeves?

I can’t stand when people put others down, are rude (especially to my sister), bullying, are self-interested, or bad at driving. I’m especially annoyed when people know I’m busy but talk to me or try to get me to do something with them anyway. I also get annoyed when people can’t be courteous in movie theaters.

HCO: What do you think is the most attractive quality in a girl?

There are many amazing qualities in most girls; the one I think is most attractive is playfulness. When a woman is playful, it shows that she’s able to be herself around any man, is up for adventure, and wants to make memories. Women who are playful generally share strong connections with others; it’s a very sexy quality to have.

HCO: What is your biggest turn off?

My biggest turn off is when a woman is too competitive. I’ve been in relationships with incredibly smart women who have argued about every little detail I had to say. After a while, it made me feel belittled and brought distance. Being knowledgeable is sexy; however, not addressing competition of knowledge in the right manner is a major turn off.

HCO: If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?

If I had a super power it would be the ability to understand every single person completely. Studying people, their lives, and what makes them who they are has always interested me.

HCO: If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be and why?

Being an Eagle Scout, I would bring a mirror, a knife, and a lighter.
