Summer is Coming … Don’t Freak Out!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCO chapter.

So now that spring break is over, it is time to think about your summer plans. If you’re like most ambitious students, you’re applying for internships and jobs. All of this can be stressful on top of the school work that is still left in the semester. Well, don’t freak out! Here are some helpful tips on how to relieve your stress.

1. Go to the gym:

Even if it is for an hour, going to the gym is proven to release endorphins that make you happy! Happy people just don’t want to freak out.

2. Take a walk:

Taking a walk to clear your head actually works. Especially if you walk with a friend, you are bound to forget about your worries. Plus, you are working out and that makes you healthy! Duh!

3. Go out with friends:

Being with friends is the best medicine in the world. Plus, if you hear about a person that is worse off than you are than it makes you feel better! Ok, yeah I said it, but we all do it!

4. Sometimes you just have to say, the h*** with it!

It sounds cliché, but whatever will be, will be. Unless it is a matter of life or death, I am sure that getting that perfect internship or job is not the most important thing in the world. Yes, in the long run it will all pay off, but your health comes first. Enjoy life! That is pretty important as well.

I hope that these simple tips help relieve your stress. Good luck with your plans this summer! Just remember though, your still a pretty cool person no matter what happens. Stay strong!
