Let me tell you guys about the new big thing: “looped in.” Interested? Keeping reading!

In the recent years technology has been advancing and improving to make our lives easier. We have come to enjoy the apps that help make our college experience much more manageable. Just off the top of my head, I can name a few that have really helped me with my everyday life. “Transloc” helps me zero in on the bus schedule, “Whatsapp” and “Viber” help me keep in touch with my friends that have gone abroad, and, of course, all the entertainment and music apps that help keep me hip…? But really – there isn’t anything to help me with my money! As a college student, you think this would be the first thing that we all come to realize is impossible to keep track of! If you have cash, you lose it. If you use only your card, you get way too comfortable just paying for everything. And let’s be honest, when you pay with your card how often do you get paid back?

I’ve noticed there really isn’t a single app that helps me with my everyday transactions between me and the merchant, me and my family, and, the most consistent one, me and my friends and roommates.  Well, I have recently come across with an app that I think is going to change all of those transaction relationships and help make them a lot more manageable and really just redefine the way we pay. What am I talking about? “looped in!”

So, here are the basics:

What is looped in? This app is the future for paying with your phone. I’ve used it and let me tell you, it’s quick and easy, especially for merchants that are used to it. You just provide the merchant with your phone number and BAM! The transaction can be completed. You have no need to use a credit card and it’s easier than dealing with cash. And think about phone orders! When you order a pizza by phone, you have to give the restaurant a contact number anyway, but with looped in you don’t have to offer up a credit card number, too.

So how does it work? Well the basic concept is easy. First, you download the app. Go through the process of signing up. Your money is in a prepaid account that you access from your phone. You can put as much money in the account as you want, and you use your phone to pay merchants that take looped in. You can easily load money into your looped in account directly from a bank account or from credit or debit cards.

Is it safe? Yes, looped in is very safe. It does not have any personal information attached to it, nor does it save the credit card numbers, and you only add a bank account if you want to. It is not a requirement. Everything is password protected and you only ever access the account via your cell phone so the account is very secure. It’s not a wallet. It’s not a bank card. It’s fully electronic system all enabled through mobile technology!

Here is a short video that helps explain everything!

I really want you guys to be able to understand how amazing this app is. So remember to check Her Campus next week to read about some of the merchants that are involved in with this app. More merchants are joining every day! This app is the beginning of something new, a way to bring the transactions and relationships we have with merchants and each other to much more hassle free level.
