Summer is a time of late nights, beach hangouts, laughter, and sunshine. Summer is also a time where music is really emphasized. Whether it is being blasted from the rooftops, your car, or your laptop, music helps create special summertime memories that last a lifetime. This year, there are many up-and-coming music stars that are already rocking the summer music scene. Here are just some of my favorite rising stars that will surely create a bomb summer playlist:
Tove Lo:
Her lyrics are relatable and the beats are infectious. This Swedish pop star is making waves in the American music scene with her hit song, “Habits.” She released her album, Truth Serum, this year and already many are raving about her unique style. Songs that I recommend are “Not on Drugs,” “Over,” and “Habits.” If you’re into alternative pop/electronic, Tove Lo will be just right for you.
Iggy Azalea
This Australian rapper has conquered the U.S already with her hit song, “Fancy” feat. Charli XCX. She’s now collaborating with T.I, Ariana Grande, and many other mainstream U.S artists. Iggy is sure to be around for a while in the mainstream music scene. She’s all over the front covers these days, from her moving to the U.S at the tender age of 16 to her explosion of fame this year, Iggy is sure to climb all the musical charts.
Sam Smith
This English crooner is sure to charm the ladies with his smooth and soulful vocals. He has already been featured on many songs such as “La la la” and “Latch.” Check out his singles, “Money on my Mind” and “Stay With Me,” which is my personal favorite. Sam Smith is currently on top of the charts and will continue to be with his suave and sophisticated style. You’ll fall in love with his voice.
