The Hub: Madison’s Latest Project

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Think about your dorm room in Witte Residence Hall freshmen year. It had low ceilings, insects, your bed was just plopped right on top of your desk, the walls were paper-thin, and your Wi-Fi never worked. It was just shy of a luxurious lifestyle.

Back to the now, where you are, most likely, already starting to feel the pressure of finding a place to live next year. Property companies and landlords will start looking for next year’s renters as early as October.

There is a 95% chance that you will either end up living in one of the high-rise apartment buildings or a poorly constructed college house. There, you are either close to classes and far away from downtown or just far away from both. Your life is just slightly more luxurious than Witte, as you no longer have easy access to Gordon Commons.

Now, imagine this. You live in a location where you are in the heart of downtown, but classes are also no more than a 10-minute walk. Imagine it’s a place where you walk into your apartment and you see your pool table, your hot tub, your private terrace, and windows that go from the floor to the ceiling. Imagine you have access to a spa, a sand volleyball court, and a giant 20-foot LED outdoor television screen for game days. Talk about luxury.

Now, stop imagining. And live it. Everything of what was mentioned above and more is all a part of Madison’s new Hub on Campus.

Wow, isn’t it beautiful? The Hub can be found on the corner of State and Frances Street starting next fall. You can take a virtual tour and found out more information here.

After watching the virtual tour, you’ll see all the insane features. These features range from the giant cardiovascular room inside the building to a viewing room with 30 seats and four television screens. FOUR TELEVISION SCREENS! Why do you need four? Who the hell knows, but who the hell cares? It’s all included.

The Hub is a magical place where all your wildest dreams will come true except for getting good grades, as you will waste all your time checking out all the cool stuff inside like the sauna and steam room because your old houses probably didn’t have one. Your prime downtown location and being a few steps away from Wando’s on a Tuesday for bacon night will also be too tempting to pass up.

So, remember when making your housing decisions for next year that you could live in a place that has a hot tub in your room, but also remember that you do need to go to school and leave your apartment to attend class. It’s your choice, just make sure your proceed with caution.

Oh, and there is a rooftop swimming, by the way.
