Campus Cutie: Adam Guest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Name: Adam Guest

Year: Sophomore

Major: Communications with a Concentration in Public Relations and Advertising

Hometown: Bedford, New Hampshire

HC: What is a fun fact about yourself?

AG: I played Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls in high school. And I’m an Eagle Scout.

HC: What is your favorite Marist memory so far?

AG: Well the girl writing it is dating the stud, that’s like a scandal! I can’t say you’re my favorite memory because that’s like, biased, or something. But without a doubt, my favorite Marist memory would be walking down to the river with you when we saw bunnies.

HC: Really?

AG: It was just so pleasant but cliché at the same time, I think that’s why I liked it so much. I mean we saw bunnies, that’s funny!

HC: Do you have any pets?

AG: I have one cat and its name is Scout.

HC: Why Scout?

AG: She’s named after Harper Lee’s protagonist Scout Finch and Scout is my mom’s cat and To Kill a Mockingbird is my mom’s favorite book. Also, Scout is quite the rambunctious cat, she doesn’t like people, and she bites people quite often which is appropriate because in the book, Scout was a rambunctious little girl – like she didn’t want to wear a dress – so it’s a good name.

HC: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

AG: Oh that’s a tough one. I guess dim sum or dumplings. Can it be a variety of dumplings or just one kind?

HC: It can be any kind of dumpling.

AG: I wouldn’t want to eat one thing for the rest of my life. That sounds terrible…Well, maybe I’d want to eat mangos.

HC: Mangos?

AG: It’s more realistic because if you’re stranded on a tropical island, there would probably be mangos.

HC: Why is it that people are always stranded in tropical places? What if you were stranded in Antarctica?

AG: Then you’d just die.

HC: What else do you like to do?

AG: I like music. I like theatre. I like being a thespian, if you want to use that word. That’s a good word.

HC: What is the first thing you notice about a girl?

AG: Her hair.

HC: What personality trait or characteristic do you find most attractive in a girl?

AG: I guess…I want to say courage – like what do you call that – going outside your comfort zone? What is the word for that?

HC: Going with the flow? Flexible?

AG: Yeah or spontaneous.

HC: What is the most romantic thing you have ever done for a girl?

AG: Asking a girl out to prom with a public rap show was a pretty romantic thing to do. Writing a specific song about prom and performing it for the whole high school. That probably takes the cake.

HC: What is your advice to girls on campus looking for that special someone?

AG: Branch out more, go outside your comfort zone, and be willing to meet new people.

HC: What’s your go to pick-up line?

AG: Know what’s on the menu? Me-n-u.
