Okay, let’s be honest. How many of us go to the library to actually work? I bet you sometimes go there to get out of the house/flat/street or to buy a coffee from a vending machine (admit it, you’re still in awe of these monstrosities- instant coffee- INSTANT). And if you’re sad like me, you might even go purely to attempt to catch the eye of someone way out of your league. But alas, its simple for library experiences to be hindered by one’s own stupidity. If you forget to eat before you go, your stomach noises are likely to resemble jet engines. This is worsened even when you try to resolve the problem and buy food. If it happens to be a packet of biscuits they always seem to be the hardest to open, with the loudest possible wrapper. So all in the stomach/food situation is one that should be avoided. Also, is it just me or is the library just a little too hot? Living in Cornwall, I swear I spend half of my life living in jumpers knitted by my Gran yet when I walk through those smooth (okay, I lied, they squeak) revolving doors the heat hits me and I start to work up a sweat.  Once I do eventually sit down after trawling through every available work space, the combination of my out of breathness/stomach noises and biscuit wrapper opening makes for a lot of embarrassment. That’s where the handy set of blue bean bags comes in.  Hibernation time is just around the corner. So if you see some poor person asleep on/under/between those comfy beasts, don’t be too judgemental. Sometimes the library is just a little too much to handle. Ah well, there’s always Koofi…
