Adelphi’s Annual Midnight Madness

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

As soon as October rolls around, everyone is talking about Midnight Madness at Adelphi. Now if you’re completely unaware of what Midnight Madness is, it’s basically a pep rally that’s centered around the men’s and women’s basketball teams. This year, Midnight Madness was on Friday, October 17 and was definitely a highlight for this fall semester. First, all the dance teams (Dance Team, Step Team, and the Evolution Hip Hop Team) and the cheer team performed, and each team had amazing routines! There was definitely a lot of Panther spirit in the CRS that night!

It was definitely nice to see the cheer team perform, they’re always so spirited and bring a lot of energy to the floor. The Dance Team performed next, and their combination of killer moves and fast paced songs made their performance one you definitely did not want to miss. Next was the Step Team, and their precision and synchronicity was incredible, and they nailed their routine. Then it was the Evolution Hip Hop team’s turn to own the floor, and they killed it! They brought an unparalleled energy to the floor, and wowed everyone with their moves.

After the dance teams had their fun, it was time for the basketball teams to be introduced one by one. Each player on the teams had a walk-out song and got to be featured individually, which is nice because everyone gets to essentially “meet” the team. After everyone was introduced, the women’s basketball team did a dance routine of their own, and everyone could tell that they were all having a good time owning the court in a completely different way from what they’re used to.

All in all, Midnight Madness was definitely a success this year, and if you missed it this time around, you should definitely check it out next fall!
