1. Hi Tait! Tell us about yourself – where are you from, do you have any pets, any deep dark secrets?
Hey! My name’s Tait McLouth, and currently I’m a grad student in the Materials Science and Engineering department working towards a master’s degree. I’m from Benicia, CA and I had a pet fish named George before I came to UCLA! I don’t really have any deep dark secrets, just regular ones.
2. I know you’re a fan of puns. What’s your favorite pun?
Isn’t everyone a fan of puns? I don’t think I can pin down one pun as my favorite, but a good one is from a scene in Arrested Development where (spoilers) Buster gets his left hand bit off by a loose seal, which causes him to be all right.
3. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
I think teleportation would be really handy, because you could just be anywhere in an instant. It would be nice avoiding traffic, loose seals, and anything else that might inconvenience you. Also, Nightcrawler from X-men is pretty cool.
4. I heard you spend the summer in Japan! If you were to travel the world and could only take one thing with you, what would it be? (And you can’t say smartphone, food or water…because at this point those are the essentials)
I did! It was a fantastic summer, Japan is an awesome place. If I had to take one thing, I’d probably want my trusty backpack. We’ve been together for a while now and no matter where I go she’s right behind me, carrying my stuff, which is everything I could ever want in a backpack.
