Campus Celebrity: Alex Farley-Wood – Her Campus Leeds Social Secretary

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Leeds chapter.

This week we have some news at Her Campus; we have a new Social Sec. So without further ado here is the newest Leeds University Campus Celebrity: Alex Farley-Wood.

1. Hi Alex! Tell us a bit about yourself – where are you from, what are you studying, what are your interests?

Hi! Well I’m Alex, obviously, I’m from Coventry originally and studying Philosophy, Psychology and Scientific Thought. I’m a big fan of dancing (both in a studio and at the club) and am hoping to do some more travelling soon.

2. Tell us about how you first got involved in Her Campus and why we’re so amazing.

I joined half way through my first year and immediately fell in love. I really like writing and thought the ‘girl power’ attitude Her Campus has was right up my street; how could I not refuse?!

3. What made you want to be Social Sec?

Honestly, I love seeing people having a good time, and figured if I could contribute to that in such a fabulous society like Her Campus, then why not go for it?

4. What does the role involve? How do you get the tricky uni/social/society life balance?

I basically organise socials and events for the society, be it parties, dinners or trips out. I’m not sure how I manage (it’s hard work!) but everything seems to be going okay! At least I hope it is…

5. What’s the next step? What exciting plans/events do you have coming up this year?

Our first social is this Friday! We’re doing a Movie Characters theme for an Otley Run – be there or be square! The Christmas social is also currently under development but you’ll be hearing about it soon! As for the rest of the year, you’re just going to have to wait and see.

6. Is there anything else you’d like to add?

HC members – we’d better see you all there this Friday! There’s a link to the event on the group page so make sure to check that out. Other than that, have a great week!
