Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” Music Video is Everything

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift is currently taking over the world. Okay, maybe not the world, but her new album ‘1989’ is definitely taking over our lives. First, we had an entire new album to listen to, and now we also have a music video to watch 100 times a day.  The video for “Blank Space” premiered yesterday, and I have been drooling over it ever since. Whether it’s her bad*ss attitude, amazing outfits, or constant stream of model (ex) boyfriends, the character she portrays in the video is everything and more.

When the video starts, T.Swift plays a couture woman living in a mansion with her beautiful boyfriend, living the life. Riding around on white horses, everything is perfect, until she sees him texting someone else (mmhm). The video then takes a turn, and a dramatic yet hilarious one at that. From cutting her now ex-boyfriends shirt Mean Girls style, or dropping his phone in a fountain, she turns into the crazy girl that we tend to hide away. But don’t worry, another hot boyfriend pulls up as the hot ex speeds off (the dream, am I right?).

This video was a refreshing change from the typical good girl rolls that she plays, with more edge and humor. The “Blank Space” music video is visually appealing with a story line many girls can relate too (except, maybe not the whole apple as a voodoo-doll thing). What do you think of “Blank Space”? Watch the video below, and leave your thoughts in the comments!
