I feel like over the past few months, I’ve seen sequin hangers featured on every blog! I thought about ordering one from Etsy, but making a sequin-wrapped hanger seemed like an easy and fun craft. I was super lucky to find some 1-inch sequin ribbon on sale at the craft store, which kept the price of this diy project surprisingly low. Grab a hanger and some sequin ribbon, and lets get started!

Step 1: Gather Materials

For my hanger, I used 3 yards of 1-inch-wide sequin ribbon, a hot glue gun, scissors, and a wooden hanger. I like the width of this hanger because I knew it would make a big statement, rather than my usual skinny hangers.

Step 2: Cover Ends

I started by cutting 1-inch sections of sequin ribbon and gluing them over each end of the hanger. This makes things look a little neater when you’re done covering the majority of the hanger. Feel free to stretch the ribbon a little bit as you glue here and throughout the craft.

Step 3: Get Wrapping!

Wrap the ribbon around the hanger, starting at one end and working toward the center. Add a dot of glue every few wraps to keep the ribbon from sliding.

Step 4: Cover Problem Areas

After wrapping my entire hanger, I noticed a few bits of wood peeking through. Not a problem! I just glued little pieces of leftover ribbon down. If you look really closely, you notice that the sequins are at a slightly different angle, but from arms length this isn’t noticible.

Step 5: Take a FABULOUS Instagram Picture

Seriously though. Sequin hangers are extremely photogenic. Make sure to tag @HerCampusUCF and #hcucf so we can see how you style your hanger!
