Ready to get crafty with Marti & Stewie?

When? Thursdays at 9 p.m.

Where? Baker University Center, more specifically West 82

Why? You never get a hangover from crafts and any bad decisions you make can be covered with another coat of paint!

Describe the program: Named as a tribute to homemaker Martha Stewart, Marti & Stewie Crafts is a free weekly craft night program for Ohio University students.

Who runs the program? The program is run by Marti aka Cathy Murphy and the Stewies: Lindsay Schneider, Sam Goble, & Chris Quolke.

What was the influence for the crafting? The craft night is inspired by Martha Stewart.

How long have you been running the program? The program has been running since 1999, but wouldn’t be possible without dedicated volunteers.

What kinds of crafts do you do? We do different crafts each week. We have decorated coin banks, made dream catchers, done needle felting, decorated OHIO letters, and much more!

Is there a cost to join in on the fun? There is no cost to participate in the crafts, we just ask that you sign in so we can keep counts on participants.

How has the program progressed since you first started it? It started as a monthly event on Fridays to a weekly event on Thursdays. The funding for the event has slowly become more constant. We have had various different offices help with funding over the years.

What do you hope to see for Marti and Stewie in the future? We would love to see the program continue and gain support. It is a fun event for students to participate in on a Thursday night!
