On Campus
What are you involved in?
I am involved in the Theatre Department, mostly onstage performing in plays and musicals. But this year I’ve also gotten involved in productions as a choreographer, having choreographed this semester’s Department musical, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” and looking forward to choreographing next semester’s production of “Legally Blonde!”
When did you join DE?
Freshman year.
What is your favorite part of being on the team?
I love the fact that everyone on DE comes from such different backgrounds. I grew up dancing with people who were all trained by the same teachers in the same part of southern California. Getting to come to BC and experience the styles and choreography of dancers that hail from all around the country is so fun and inspiring.
The Show
What are you most excited about for your upcoming show?I am really excited for our first semester show because it’s the show when we get to introduce lots of new choreographers on the team. There are several members of DE this semester that are having their DE choreography debuts. It’s so refreshing and inspiring to see all their unique styles highlighted and I can’t wait for them to share their hard work through their stunning, new, innovative dance pieces.
What is the number one reason we should all go?
Besides supporting the Campus School (which is huge!), I think it’s crucial for BC students to come out and support the arts at BC. We have such a rich artistic community here and it sometimes gets overlooked because of all the other awesome stuff happening on campus. DE works hard all semester to put on an entertaining, artistically diverse, and passion-filled dance show – and all we want is to share our love for dance with everyone in the BC community!
Fun Stuff
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When the back door to Robsham is locked and I have to walk around to the front of the building…lol.
What’s your favorite meal at BC?
Hillside’s Tuna Delight w/o the top piece of bread (like an open-faced sandwich) – no cheese and no tomato. No joke, I get this almost every day for lunch.
What advice would you give to freshmen?
Get involved with lots of things that you love! In my experience, it’s much more rewarding to be super busy doing lots of things you’re crazy passionate about than to be super bored sitting in your room watching crazy amounts of Netflix :)
