This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Hillary Clinton has been named as one of today’s top 20 influential women. She has also been named: First Lady of the United States, U.S. Senate, President Obama’s Secretary of State, author of “Hard Choices”, and she is currently one of the most popular candidates running in the next Presidential election.

Clinton has been encouraging women to pursue politics, once a man’s world, but we might be looking at our first female president soon. After Clinton’s husband, Bill Clinton, served his second term in office, Hillary Clinton became the first woman to run for and be elected in office when she took the role of U.S. Senate. In regards to Clinton’s run for presidency, this is the first time in history a woman has had a positive opportunity at winning an election.

It is no secret that Clinton is encouraging women to follow in her footsteps. Hillary Clinton encourages other women to follow their dreams.
