#WomanCrushWednesday: Taylor Swift

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.
Whether you were a fan from the start when she released her first country album and you sang along to “You Belong With Me” in ninth grade, or if you’ve only started listening to her recently, there is no denying the power of Taylor Swift. I’ll admit it right now; I spent a good chunk of time in high school pretending that I didn’t like her just because it wasn’t “cool” to. But those days of lying to myself are over. I’ve fully embraced my love for Taylor Swift. With her relatable lyrics, catchy tunes, empowering ideas and just overall cute personality, it’s hard not to love her. And I’m here to tell you why.
She’s super nice to her fans.
She loves her cats!
She calls out the media on how they portray her.
And she’s all for girls helping other girls.
She’s not afraid to show off her awkward dance moves…
And she even makes fun of them in a music video.
Her songs range from romantic and heartfelt…
To heartbreaking and tragic…
To just plain awesome…
And they have moments every girl can relate to.
So whether you’ve been a Swiftie from the start…
Or are just starting to catch on…
There’s no denying the power of Taylor Swift!
Petrana Radulovic is a senior studying English and Computer Science. She hopes to be a writer someday and live in the Pacific Northwest, where she will undoubtedly divide her time between sipping coffee at a local café and sipping coffee in her living room, working on her latest story. She enjoys singing when she thinks she’s the only person at home, obsessively watching America’s Next Top Model, and wearing all black no matter what the weather. In her future, she sees many cats and many books and many mugs. She is currently the Senior Editor for HerCampus UFL, but writes the occasional article because she can't help herself. This is her sixth semester with HerCampus.
