Ever wanted to get involved with Splash? Well, now’s your chance! Splash brings hundreds of high school students to BC for a day and let’s them take classes created and designed by our very own BC students.
This year it will be held on March 29th!
If you want to be a teacher, registration closes February 13th!
Info for potential Splash teachers:
- The time commitment is very low: an hour teacher training session in the weeks leading up to Splash, time to plan your class, and the one hour duration of your class on the day of Splash.
Why you should be a teacher:
- It is a great way to inspire high school students about the importance of and the enjoyment that higher education can bring.
- It reminds kids that learning can be more than just reading a textbook and is something that you can become passionate about.
- You get to share and explore your own interests.
This semester, Splash is focusing classes on having a balance between academics and creativity, allowing the high school students to both learn and have fun while BC students get to put an interesting twist on what they’re passionate about.
If you don’t think teaching is your thing, but you still want to get involved you can be a volunteer or a Splash leader.
- Volunteers: help out with student check-in and other miscellaneous jobs on the day of Splash for an hour or two.
- Splash Leaders: welcome the high school students to BC, help them get acclimated and feel comfortable, and serve as a resource for any questions they may have about Splash or college itself.
