Frances Loeb, ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.
  1. Name: Frances Loeb
  2. Major, Year: Psychology, senior, class of 2015
  3. Hometown: Wynnewood, PA
  4. Affiliated with: Johns Hopkins Cross Country, Track & Field, A Place to Talk (APTT), Undergraduate Steering Committee in Psychology, Psychology Mentorship Program, Counseling Center Advisory Board, and Research Assistant in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  5. You can probably find me…the track locker room, where I love spending way too much time before and after practice with my team
  6. The best thing about Hopkins is…The people I have met here/ the culture of the student body.  Generally everyone here is so well-rounded and not only excels academically, but also pursues a lot of different interests and inspires me to work as hard as they all do.
  7. Something I’m especially proud of is…Running at cross country nationals all 4 years and winning the last three national titles with my team!
  8. Something most people don’t know about me is…I have a twin sister!  I guess a lot of people do know that about me, since she’s my best friend, but she goes to University of Colorado so not everyone knows.
  9. This year, I hope to…finish my senior thesis on time! I also hope to accomplish the rest of my goals on the track and enjoy my last few months at this incredible school.
  10. In five years, I will be…Hopefully in a graduate school studying to be a clinical psychologist.
  11. Next up for me is…A trip to North Carolina for the Indoor Track National Championships where I will be competing in the 3K and 5K. I’m thrilled that so many of my teammates (seven!) also qualified – it should be a really fun trip!
  12. The best thing about being on the Hopkins track team is…Being part of such a fun, supportive, hard-working (and winning) team!  My teammates truly feel like sisters, we all have each other’s backs no matter what and we push each other to reach new levels in running (and life) that we never thought we could.
  13. My track goals for the rest of the season are…I’m hoping to be an All-American in the 3k and 5k and hopefully win the 5k and help the team place higher than we ever have at indoor track nationals!  For outdoor, I hope to get the school record in the 5k and 10k and have a really fun last season!
  14. I am excited to graduate because…I am really excited to work in a psychology lab at NIH next year.  I’m excited to contribute to the field with some of the nation’s top researchers.
  15. Shout out to… Shout out to my coaches Bobby and Kim – everything I and my team have accomplished is because of them and their incredible hard work. I’ve never met two coaches as dedicated and talented and caring as they are.
