This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

Midterms might be in full swing but spring break is right around the corner. So whether you’re chillin’ on the beach or just heading home for the break, check out one of these leisure reads to keep you captivated while you’re in max relax mode.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

In this psychological thriller we follow the life of Rachel. What was a mundane daily commute, suddenly becomes a mystery wrought with drama. A dive into this mystery will certainly change the way you look at other people’s lives.

We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Since it’s Women’s History Month, this book is a no brainer. Adichie, more famously known as the empowering women sampled in Beyonces “Flawless” put her more famous TEDx talk of the same name to text. She’s no typical feminist either. Drawing extensively on her own experiences and her deep understanding of the often masked realities of sexual politics she illustrates a new age depiction of what feminism looks like.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

After news broke that Harper Lee may be releasing a new novel, sales for To Kill a Mockingbird shot right back up, and for good reason. Not only is it a Pullitzer Prize winning novel, but it’s relevance towards race, society, and the integrity of mankind still resonaes with people today.
