Stop everything: it looks like Netflix is getting ready to reboot 1990’s classic “Full House.”  According to Variety.com, the show’s title will be “Fuller House” and will focus on BFF duo DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler.  Netflix claims this to be just a rumor, but the internet is buzzing about it.  The cast seems to still be on good terms as there was a semi-reunion for a 2014 Super Bowl ad and there is clearly still a fan base with the show’s popular run in syndication.  The show aired from 1987 to 1995 and still has a loyal fan base as well as a new generation of fans developing due in part to reruns airing on stations such a Nickelodeon in the evenings.

Granted it won’t be the same without the great 1980’s bangs and fashion trends of the 1990’s, but how great would it be to see how Kimmy Gibbler grew up, if Steve and DJ got married, and if Stephanie’s and Michelle’s catch phrases are as cute 20 years later?  Uncle Jesse can still elicit a “have mercy!” from women of all ages and Aunt Becky is probably as gorgeous as ever, but what became of Nicky and Alex?  “Full House” has left so many important questions unanswered that they pretty much owe it to the audience of nearly thirty years to go ahead with the reboot.

Considering the success of the “Boy Meets World” reboot “Girl Meets World” and the fact that both “Boy Meets World” and “Full House” appealed to the same generation, one could expect “Fuller House” to do equally well.  Whether or not the show will go one remains to be seen, but it has certainly created some buzz.  If it wasn’t in development before, perhaps the newly generated excitement about the prospective show will be what Netflix needs to make it happen.  If viewers are what they need, then “you got it, dude.”
