7 Things You Should Tell Yourself Daily

We all have those days where we don’t want to get out of bed and nothing seems to be going your way. Sometimes everything seems to be tumbling down on us. Maybe it’s a string of bad luck, or you’re really stressed like I usually am.

Those days suck, but we can’t enjoy the good days without the bad ones.

Here are 7 things you should tell yourself every day;

1.    “I can do it.”

You might not want to get out of bed or be productive, but you will make it through the day. If Brittany Spears can make it through 2007, then you can make it through today.

2.    “Just breathe.”

Take a deep breath, inhale and exhale. Sometimes the best thing you can do is breath. Breathing is a natural calming mechanism that can be used to energize or relax you, depending on the situation. If you’re worked up about something, take two minutes to close your eyes and breathe, it’ll help.

3.    “Be patient.”

You might be stressed about getting a grade back on a test or waiting to hear back from an interview, but try not to get worked up over these things. You don’t have control over what happens after the fact, but you can remind yourself to be patient and know things will work out in due time. Your reaction to situations will play a large part in how well you cope with them.

4.    “I’m alive, I’m awake and I feel great.”

My mom used to tell me this everyday when I was tired or didn’t want to do anything. It’s a privilege to be alive and it’s something you should remind yourself of all the time. Try it. Post-it on your mirror so you see it every morning.

                                                                                          

5.    “The harder I work now, the more it will pay off later.”

College sucks, work sucks, lot’s of things suck. If we look at the bigger picture and work as hard as we can to get through these tough times, the pay off will be tremendous and you’ll be able to look back and think “yup, I did that.”

6.    “It’s going to be OK.”

Everything is going to work out. No matter what happens, it’s what was supposed to happen. Everything will be OK in the end. If it’s not OK, then it’s not the end.

 

7.    “It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.”

Sometimes we feel like everything is going wrong in our lives, and we let the negative emotions consume us. In reality, we’re just going through a rough patch. Life is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.
