This week’s Campus Celebrity is junior media studies major, Emily Stasny!
Originally from Craigsville W.Va., Emily felt right at home as soon as she stepped on Wesleyan’s campus her freshman year. Since then, she has actively been involved in campus activities as well as several organizations.
She is the team leader for the Wesleyan Service Scholars as well as the General Manager for Wesleyan’s radio station, C-92 FM. Emily is also a member of the academic honorary, Alpha Lambda Delta; the business honorary, Delta Mu Delta; and the National Society for Leadership and Success. Needless to say, Emily has a lot on her plate but handles it with ease.
Her favorite thing to do, however, is managing the radio station.
“My favorite part of the radio station that it is a constant learning environment,” she says. “We recently upgraded our entire station, thanks to the donations from alumni, and had to learn a whole new software system. I like discovering how all the technology works, but I also like learning along with the DJs. They all have a certain style to them, and it’s amazing to see how they all work together. With every new bug or process we discover, they are truly adaptable. I couldn’t ask for a better group to start something new with, and I look forward to seeing where we can take it.”
