You’re on the Living808 team for KHON2, what is your favorite part of the job and why? I enjoy every aspect of Living808, from gathering the information, to presenting my segment “808 Update” on TV, to working with a great team! I love what I do and I’m grateful for the opportunity.
You could have chosen any type of career in journalism, why did you decide to go into broadcast journalism? I decided to pursue broadcast journalism because I’ve always loved writing and working in television, so I thought, why not combine the both?
When did you become interested in journalism? Actually, singing has always been my number one passion; and over the years I’ve had the chance to host numerous television shows and work in broadcast journalism. It was then that realized I loved it just as much as performing.
What is one highlight of your broadcast/ journalism career so far? Some of my highlights include interviewing Kelly Rippa on the set of her show Live! With Kelly here in Hawaii, and interviewing country music stars on the red carpet of the American Country Awards in Las Vegas.
You’re very much into fitness and even teach a bootcamp class… we dig that! What about it got you started? I love working out and staying fit, whether its going for a hike, a run, or working out at my favorite gym the Art of Fitness. Health and wellness is a big part of my life, and when I was offered to teach a bootcamp class at Egan Inoue’s Fit Body Bootcamp in Honolulu, I was excited to take it on.
What keeps you motivated? Working out is big stress reliever and helps me to stay focused and centered. It helps me to feel better and gives me a better quality of life!
