8 INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES TO HELP YOU GET BY

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

I believe that quotes are truly awesome. We all need a bit of inspiration now and then. Whether good or bad, quotes always serve to get you thinkin’… to keep you on your feet, to motivate you!

Knowing that someone, somewhere can relate to your problem – and knowing that they were able to get through it is very helpful. Every once in a while we all feel a little down, which is totally normal. What’s important is that we look on the bright side, to try to make things better.

Here are eight of my favorite quotes to help you do just that:

“Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen.”

How refreshing is this? The fact that we have the opportunity to start over again each day is, well, amazing. No matter what – each day is a chance to begin again, and we should never take advantage of this.

“Everything will turn out okay. The world is built on that.”

This quote holds extremely true to pretty much every rough situation I have ever been in. Each time I felt like something was the end of the world, it absolutely was not.  I’m a drama queen (yes, Mom, I’m admitting it now) – but I promise things always get better.

“Be in love with your life. Every minute of it.”

Are you proud of the life you are living?  I’m sure most of you reading this are in college. This means that you are a young, hardworking soul with so much potential. Being lucky enough to go to college, the world is literally at our fingertips. We have the power to do anything we set our minds to.

“The world will knock you down plenty. You don’t need to be doing it to yourself.”

THIS! I could read this quote one million times and never get tired of hearing it.  The society we live in today literally thrives on making everyone feel bad about themselves.  From hair, makeup, cars, clothes, relationships, weight, height, family, or even grades in school – people are always comparing one another.

Don’t let these things make you feel bad, it is so important to never put yourself down. You need to believe in yourself! Because, let’s face it, if even you can’t – then who can?

“Adventures are the best way to learn.”

Once again, we are young. We are capable, strong, and passionate. Although we come to college to pass our classes and earn a degree, what we do outside of the classroom is just as important. We must take advantage of being healthy, full-0f-life individuals; and go on adventures! Oneonta’s location provides a lot of opportunity for us students to always be doing something outdoorsy, no matter the weather.

“You have a little bit of ‘I want to save the world’ in you, that’s why you’re here, in college. I want you to know that it’s okay if you only save one person, and it’s okay if that person is you.”

This one speaks for itself. All students should hear this quote. We all want to have a greater impact on something in this world. However, it’s very crucial for us to always love and take care of ourselves. We must learn to love ourselves before we can truly love anything else.

“What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does.”

Sometimes, we really have no control over a situation we’re in. As much as we’d like to think that we can plan for the future, we never know what’s coming. So, we need to take everything one day at a time, and make the best of what we have. I remind myself daily that there’s no point in worrying over something that I can’t control. Grab a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, and relax. Let’s all try to remember this!

“Whatever you do, do it with all your heart.”

This applies to pretty much everything in life. Most of us in college have picked a major that we are enthusiastic about. This is something we enjoy learning about, something we aspire to become when we get older, and something we put a lot of work into. It could be anything- a class, a club, a friendship, a team, a relationship, a hobby, a job. Take what you are passionate about, and put everything you’ve got into it. As my Dad has always told me, “do something right – or don’t do it at all”. So, whatever “it” is put all of your effort toward it. Or else it’s just a waste of time!

Hopefully these eight quotes have brought a little extra inspiration into your daily life. Stay motivated, and finish off the semester strong!

Good luck & HCXO,

Vanessa
